The Legal Services for Immigrants (LSI) program provides affordable, quality legal representation for immigrants. In operation since 2003, the program is overseen by a staff attorney. Clients typically pay less than they would for a private attorney. For very low-income clients, the services are pro bono.
Citizenship issues, family petitions, political asylum, work permits (NACARA, VAWA), and domestic violence cases are among the many cases taken by LSI.
LSI keeps the community informed by hosting six to eight meetings a year to update immigrants on changes in U.S. immigration law and to report on proposed or enacted changes by Congress.
CEUS would like to thank the IOLTA Fund of NJ for its financial support of our pro bono services. We would also like to thank the NJ State Bar Foundation for its support for Spanish-Language Education and Outreach on Immigration Law.
