PROGRAMS
Centro Comunitario CEUS offers clients an array of programs aimed at helping them adjust to their new country.
English as A Second Language and Spanish Literacy classes are geared to four proficiency levels so that students learns at their own pace. Classes, taught by volunteers, take place on Sunday so that the maximum number of students can attend. See Language Classes for more details.
Access to affordable legal services has never been more important to immigrants and CEUS has responded to this need by providing moderately priced immigration-related legal services to the community. See Legal Services for more details.
Immigration services have been the major focus of CEUS since its founding. In an era of increasing animosity toward immigrants, CEUS continues to be a voice for this vulnerable population. Among our achievements, we have successfully pushed for legal status for thousands of Central American refugees and helped hundreds apply for work permits under the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program. CEUS continues to assist TPS clients to reapply each year the program is extended.
The Centro Comunitario CEUS Women’s Program – Entre Nosotras, (Between Ourselves in English) – addresses the specific needs and concerns of Hispanic women as they struggle to adjust to their new country. See Women’s Program for more details.
Membership Program offers various benefits to participants who support the organizational with a sustainer fee.
