Softening the blow of COVID-19
Centro Comunitario CEUS is delivering aid to immigrants in Hudson County, New Jersey who are suffering from the impact of COVID-19 on their health, work or living situation. tan
A share of the funds from an online campaign launched by CEUS to raise funds for the organization will go to victims of the pandemic. CEUS also is working with other organizations to provide aid to low income victims of the pandemic with no-where else to turn for help.
If you need help, please call 201 605 6669 or send a message to info@ceusnj.org and someone will call you and evaluate your situation to determine if CEUS can provide any aid.
Delivering aid
CEUS delivered certificates in the first two weeks of June to more than 50 immigrants in the community, enabling them to buy food at supermarkets in the Union City, New Jersey, area. On June 17, 26 immigrants received food packages from CEUS to help them get through the pandemic.
CEUS also is working with the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NPRF) to identify and reach out to immigrants who don’t have the legal status to receive pandemic assistance from the US government. In June and July CEUS will deliver direct aid totaling $43,000 to immigrants in the community and CEUS is working with NPRF to continue supporting this sector of the community.
CEUS volunteers in September distributed rice, beans, seasoning and other foods donated by Goya Foods. And in November, we distributed food packets for Thanksgiving filled with donations from Goya, Shoprite, Trader Joes and Fiesta Supermarket, and CEUS supporters.
